Douglas Mayor Corey Hill, a farmer and small business owner, released his first television ad on Monday in his campaign to become Alabama’s next Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.
The commercial, entitled “The Farmer’s Choice,” will appear on television stations and streaming platforms across the state.
Hill used the commercial to highlight his experience as a working farmer and to emphasize the importance of the commissioner position to the safety of Alabama’s food supply, ending the ad with the tagline: “What we grow and what you eat – it matters.”
Hill, a grocery store owner, received the support of several of the state’s agriculture associations, including the Alabama Farmers’ Federation and BeefPAC, the political arm of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.
The Republican primary election is on May 19.
