Reward money totaling $50,000 will be distributed among tipsters who utilized Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama, leading to the arrest of Damien McDaniel for capital murder and 17 counts of first-degree assault.

McDaniel is accused in the Sept. 21 shooting in front of Hush Lounge in Five Points South.

Tahj Booker, 27, Carlos McCain, 27, and Roderick Lynn Patterson, all of Birmingham, and Anitra Holloman, 21, of Bessemer, were killed.

McDaniel is also charged in at least seven other deaths throughout the summer, including another mass shooting at the Trendsetters venue where four people were killed on July 13. In all, he is accused of shooting 40 people.

Crime Stoppers said Thursday that Birmingham city officials and police are prepared to announce the distribution of the funds set aside for the Five Points shooting. Over 130 tips were submitted in the case. Those who call or submit tips to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.
