The Robertsdale Police Department announced the arrest of a teacher following a lengthy investigation into possible sexual contact between the suspect and a student.

Daniel Geronimo Navarro, 46, of Daphne, was arrested and has been indicted on three counts of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19 years of age.

Navarro was a culinary teacher at the South Baldwin Center for Technology in the Robertsdale city limits. The school offers vocational classes for Baldwin County students in Robertsdale High School, Foley High School, Fairhope High School, Elberta High School and Baldwin County Virtual High School.

Investigators say Navarro was a teacher of the culinary arts program at the school, but they did not say if they believe the alleged incidents happened on the campus.

Police are still actively investigating the case and have asked anyone with information to call them at (251) 947-2222.
