The Cullman Police Department worked with Covenant Rescue Group on a child sex sting, leading to five arrests.

Trevan Levan Jefferson, 35, of Killen, Texas; Rodrigo Uriel Hernandez, 25, of Maylene; Ian Grae Carroll, 29, of Somerville; Timothy James Armstrong, 37, of Hamilton; and Adrian Neal Horton, 35, of Toney, were charged with two counts each of first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Carroll was also charged with possession of unlawful hemp products.

Police chief Joey Duncan said the child exploitation operation was a proactive measure.

"We are grateful for the strong partnership with District Attorney Champ Crocker and Covenant Rescue Group,” said Duncan. “Their dedication and collaboration are instrumental in ensuring that those who target children for immoral and criminal purposes are held accountable."

Duncan said the police department will continue to pursue those who seek to harm children.

Those charged are considered innocent until proven guilty.
