A City of Cullman wastewater plant superintendent has officially been removed from his position by the city council after being arrested for allegedly placing a hidden camera in a male employee restroom.
According to The Cullman Tribune, the council voted in a unanimous fashion on Tuesday to terminate the employment of Shannon Jake Calloway, 38, of Arley.
Calloway is facing two counts of aggravated criminal surveillance, with the complaint against him stating, “[Calloway] installed a video camera in the men’s restroom and recorded the intimate areas of an individual’s body.” Calloway reportedly filmed at least two individuals in separate instances.
Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs met with Calloway shortly after the arrest and later recommended his termination to the council.
