Monday on Huntsville WVNN's "The Dale Jackson Show," U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) reacted to the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump as he campaigns for a second presidential term.

Strong said Congress would investigate the attempts on Trump's life and suggested that it would "blow people's minds when they find out what really truly happened" when Trump got shot in the ear during a rally in Butler, Pa.

"They had Homeland Security or whatever they said was protect [Trump] in Butler County," Strong told host Dale Jackson. "You can't protect a guy with someone that's 5'6 or 5'8, with a body mass like he's got. Number two, they couldn't have got him off that stage if they tried, if he was incapacitated."

He continued, "Then you look at what happened with that Tahoe, they got him in the truck, they moved up 20 feet and sat there for about three and a half minutes, waiting on somebody to unlock the gate so they could get out. It's so many problems with Butler County, you couldn't make that many mistakes if you tried."

According to Strong, the close calls with Trump's life "can't be tolerated." He added that Trump was "left sitting like a duck in hunting season" because all of the Secret Service members were at the Democratic National Convention.

"But I don't know, they've got to stop the egos every day," he said of Congress' role going forward. "I mean, it's one of those things, you don't have to have a card saying what he's doing that day. But Congress will definitely investigate it."

"I think it's going to blow people's minds when they find out what really truly happened at Pennsylvania," Strong added. "Thinking that you had Secret Service protecting the number one candidate running for president, and to find out you've got Homeland Security officers protecting him that have never done personal protection, totally unacceptable. And then whenever you find out that counter-sniper teams, he was denied counter-sniper teams, and the person that denied it is the person that's now over Secret Service, so I believe that we will be getting rid of another acting director before this is over."
