Daphne City Council District 5 candidate William "Billy" Miller is urging constituents to get involved and get to the polls for the 2025 municipal elections.

As a longtime Daphne resident, the U.S. Air Force veteran announced he is running for city council with a deep commitment to faith, family and community.

"As an Alabama native, veteran and longtime Daphne resident, I've raised my family in Daphne in District 5 and I'm committed to leading with integrity by listening to our community and preparing for its future," said Miller.

Miller promised strong, principled leadership to one of Alabama's fastest-growing cities.

He called on residents to participate in the local election to ensure elected officials lead with sound decisions concerning growth, infrastructure and public safety. He said those key issues impact the daily lives and quality of life for families.

"Too often, voters turn out for national or state elections while overlooking the significance of municipal races," the campaign stated. "City Council decisions shape zoning, safety, development, and the very culture of a city."

Miller hopes to inspire families, faith-based voters and everyday citizens to re-engage and have their voices heard.

Miller, an educator, assistant coach and experienced chaplain, said he is committed to safe, sustainable and smart decisions for Daphne.

The municipal elections will be held on August 26.
