A Baldwin County man is alive and well thanks to the quick actions of Danielle Duggar, who is running for Alabama House of Representatives District 96.
Gaines Crawford was walking his dog near his home in Daphne when he collapsed and lost consciousness, the campaign said. Duggar saw Crawford and ran to his aid, calling 911 and adjusting Crawford’s airway. Crawford was hospitalized for treatment but has since been released.
“I believe with all my heart that God had me in the right place at the right time,” Duggar said. “What mattered in that moment was making sure he had help as quickly as possible. I am incredibly grateful that we were able to get EMS on the way and help care for him until emergency responders arrived. Please join me in praying for Mr. Crawford and his family as he continues to heal.”
Duggar said she was door-knocking and meeting constituents when the incident occurred.
“When you are out in the neighborhoods, you are reminded that this campaign is about people,” Duggar added. “It is about families, neighbors, and being willing to show up when someone needs help.”
In January, Duggar was attacked by a dog and was seriously injured. She told 1819 News it took several weeks to heal but she has fully recovered.
