A Daphne man was sentenced to 135 months in prison and will have to register as a sex offender after he was caught soliciting child porn on social media.

Michael Edward Terrell, 46, of Daphne, pleaded guilty to attempted receipt of distribution of child pornography in Mobile County Circuit Court.

Court documents state the incidents happened between 2017 and 2020.

Investigators found 42 videos or images of child porn in his Twitter message box. His handle was "Pteenloverf***1."

Terrell was messaging other Twitter users and requesting that they send him "hardcore" images of child pornography.

Upon his release from prison, Terrell will serve 15 years of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender. He is to have no contact with minors and will undergo "sex offender treatment, substance abuse testing and treatment and mental health treatment" during his time of imprisonment.

At sentencing, Judge Steele imposed the 135-month sentence of incarceration and a 15-year term of supervised release upon his future release. During his term of imprisonment, Terrell will be subject to sex offender treatment, substance abuse testing and treatment, and mental health treatment. Terrell will be required to register as a sex offender and is to have no contact with minors. Terrell was ordered to pay $30,500 in restitution to the victims of his offenses and $5,100 in special assessments.
