Daphne Mayor Robin LeJeune first took office in 2020. He and other municipal elected officials statewide received an extra year to their terms to separate local elections from the presidential election.

During that time, the Jubilee City secured over $20 million in federal and state grant funds for multiple projects, according to NBC 15.

LeJeune announced this week that he would like to continue that momentum with another four years as mayor.

"When I took office in 2020, my goal was clear — to continue to work to make Daphne an exceptional community where residents, businesses, and families can truly thrive," LeJeune said. "By listening to our citizens and working closely together, we've made meaningful progress in enhancing the quality of life throughout our city, and I'm excited about continuing that momentum."

LeJeune said the City has invested millions in infrastructure, stormwater upgrades, sewer lift stations, waterway protection, road improvements and sidewalks.

The City has also focused on public safety. Daphne is currently expanding its justice center. The City also invested over $3 million in new fire trucks and opened a new fire station. Now, each fire truck has a medic.

"Most of the calls our fire department responds to are medical emergencies," LeJeune said. "By staffing every fire truck with a trained medic, we're able to get help on the scene faster — usually arriving in under five minutes, quicker than an ambulance."

Other important projects include the Bayfront Park amphitheater, the Purple Park Playground and a new state-of-the-art animal shelter.

LeJeune, known for his bright purple blazer and love for Mardi Gras, is married to his wife, Christina. They have three children and one grandchild. They are members of Crossroads Church of God.

The 2025 City of Daphne municipal elections for mayor and city council districts will be held on August 26.
