The Fairhope Police Department responded Friday morning to the beach area near the Fairhope Municipal Pier for a death investigation.
Investigators did not immediately release details, but said the investigation was taking place north of the pier. Police said there is no threat to the public.
The pier remained open but traffic was restricted while detectives were on the scene.
