Calhoun County Circuit Judge Debra Jones (R) released her first campaign video this week touting her conservative principles and echoing President Donald J. Trump’s call to put more conservatives on the Supreme Court. Jones is a candidate for Alabama Supreme Court.

“I have a proven record of being a conservative judge,” Jones said. “I have earned a reputation of being honest and fair. I strictly apply the law to everyone equally without fear or favor and treat each person in my courtroom with dignity and respect.”

During his four years in the White House, President Trump was able to nominate and appoint more than 200 conservatives to the federal bench, including three members to the US Supreme Court.

Jones claims that she is exactly the kind of judge folks in Alabama are looking for to fill an open seat on the state’s highest court, “a real conservative.”

"As a jury trial judge, I defend the Alabama and US Constitutions every day,” Jones added. “As a Supreme Court Justice, I’ll continue fighting for the people of this state. I’ll defend our rights!”

Jones has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and a law degree from the Cumberland School of Law. She and her husband, William, have been married for more than 29 years and have five children and two grandchildren. She worked as both a prosecutor and in private practice before becoming a judge.

She is running for the seat currently held by Associate Justice Mike Bolin. Attorney Greg Cook is also running for the office in the Republican primary.

Jones says that she is pro-life, will defend the Second Amendment, and is prepared to stand up to the Biden administration.
