Defending Southern Conference football champion Samford unveiled the 2023 SoCon slate on Monday. The Bulldogs open the conference slate on Sept. 9 at Western Carolina and the SoCon home opener is Sept. 23 against Chattanooga. Other games at Seibert Stadium are against ETSU (Sept. 30), Furman (Oct. 14) and The Citadel (Oct. 28).

Non-conference games were not on the schedule that was announced on Monday. The Bulldogs will play at Auburn on Sept. 16 and play host to UT Martin on Nov. 18. The Bulldogs have a spot for one more non-conference game with the first week of the season open at this point.  

Samford is coming off the most successful season in school history. The Bulldogs were finished 11-2 overall, unbeaten in SoCon play and advanced to the NCAA FCS quarterfinals.
