The Dothan Police Department said a teen was shot while making an amateur music video.
Dispatch received a call at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night in reference to a person shot in the 400 block of Donna Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Investigators determined the victim and another teenager were using a real, loaded firearm as a prop in the music video when the other teen discharged a round. The suspected shooter fled the scene after the shooting and was later found at apartments on South Ussery Street. The teen was taken into custody and was charged with first-degree assault.
Chief William Benny said the suspect’s name will not be released due to juvenile privacy laws.
