Homeland Security raided Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits in Foley on Tuesday as part of a Homeland Security Investigation into money laundering, labor exploitation and human smuggling.
The Foley Police Department assisted federal agents in the raid.
"We do not tolerate criminal activity of any kind, especially in our Foley businesses," said Mayor Ralph Hellmich.
The downtown Foley location is one of at least five Colt Grills. The restaurant is based in Arizona, where there are four other locations.
The owners renovated an old downtown Foley building to bring the BBQ joint to town. It was the first location that the owners opened in another region.
At least four people were arrested for money laundering on Tuesday from the multiple locations. Over 20 immigration arrests were made.
Federal agents stated that they investigated the operation for three years.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
