Voters in Leeds chose Eddie Moore to be their next mayor. Moore defeated City Councilman Kenneth Washington in the runoff.
Moore won with 59.9% of the vote (1,516 votes) to Washington's 40.1% (1,014 votes)
In the race for City Council District 1, vacated by Washington, who sought the mayor's position, Sabrina Rose defeated Lee Kelly 55.7% (268 votes) to 44.3% (213 votes).
Moore's race focused on his strong ties to the community. In a Facebook post earlier this week, he wrote, "Leeds has given. My family and me so much. Now I'm eager to give back, with the knowledge, experience, and energy I've been blessed with. Together, we'll ensure Leeds grows with integrity and opportunity for all."
