The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a man in connection with a road rage incident.
Alan Scott Coile, 68, of Elberta, was arrested Wednesday for discharging a firearm into an occupied automobile and first-degree criminal mischief.
The incident occurred on Dec. 1, 2025, on U.S. Highway 98, near Lillian.
A driver called the police and reported a man shot into his vehicle, then purposely crashed into it. The caller’s vehicle had a bullet hole and other damage.
After an investigation, deputies tracked the driver to a home in Elberta. Coile’s vehicle was seized for evidence processing, and Coile was taken into custody.
Coile was placed in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on bonds totaling $51,000. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.
