Elmore County Public Schools responded on Monday to speculation that multiple teachers had been involved in alleged “inappropriate behavior.”
The statement was first shared on social media by a local media page, which tagged the public school system.
“Elmore County Public Schools is aware of rumors circulating in the community regarding allegations of inappropriate behavior involving several teachers,” the statement read.
“When concerns or allegations involving student safety are brought to our attention, they are taken seriously and addressed promptly in accordance with district policies and applicable laws. The Elmore County Human Resources Office received a formal complaint on one employee on July 13, 2026, and is actively investigating that complaint. We work closely with law enforcement and other relevant agencies as a part of the investigation.”
The school system went on to state that, since this is a personnel matter that may involve student privacy, it could not comment on specific allegations, individual employees or ongoing investigations.
The statement also encourages anyone with firsthand information to contact the human resources department.
“We appreciate patience as we follow the appropriate processes to investigate the allegations,” the statement concludes. “We remain committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.”
