Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) canceled a Department of Defense contract for landscape design at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery on Monday.

According to DOGE, the $465,360 contract was for “non-personal services, to serve as the Maxwell Air Force Base installations horticulturalist, landscape designer, and greenhouse plant nursery manager to improve and maintain beautification of the installations.”

DOGE said on X that the contract was one of 44 cancellations across the federal government on Monday amounting to about $640 million in total savings.

DOGE has previously announced multiple rounds of federal government lease cancellations across Alabama amounting to about $19 million in taxpayer savings.
