The Bay County, Fla. Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two Enterprise teens after 21 vehicles were burglarized in one night.
The burglaries occurred in the early morning hours of November 18. Home security cameras from The Oaks subdivision captured two suspects.
Brandon Fortner, 18, and Bryson Ankrom, 16, were arrested and charged with 17 counts of burglary inside of a conveyance, four counts of armed burglary and four counts of grand theft of a firearm.
Investigators accuse the pair of attempting to open vehicles and in some cases, were successful. Items reported stolen included multiple firearms and cash.
“The investigation revealed that the pair had traveled from Enterprise, Alabama, committed the burglaries, and then fled back across the state line,” the sheriff’s office stated.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office, the Enterprise Police Department and the Hartford Police Department assisted Florida authorities with the investigation.
“This case represents a strong collaborative effort among multiple divisions and partnering agencies, all working together to bring justice to the victims and restore peace to the affected community,” the sheriff’s office added.
Law enforcement reminded residents to remove valuables and lock vehicles to prevent becoming a victim.
Fortner and Ankrom are considered innocent until proven guilty.
