An inmate who escaped from a Decatur facility has been apprehended in South Carolina.

William Pervie Walker escaped from North Alabama Community-Based Facility at approximately 7:35 a.m. on June 26.

On Friday morning, Walker was recaptured in Spartanburg, SC, after five days on the run. 

Walker has a lengthy rap sheet, with several charges of manufacturing and trafficking methamphetamine, theft and receiving stolen property.

He was sentenced to 20 years in 2013 for drug manufacturing.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Walker surrendered himself without violence.
