The Rainbow City Police Department announced the arrest of two people in connection with a bonfire shooting on Monday.

Anthony Paul, 19, of Hokes Bluff, and a juvenile were arrested.

Police responded to shots fired in the area of Friendship Road at 8 p.m. A group of people at the location reported that they were gathered around the fire when a vehicle repeatedly drove past the location. The vehicle then stopped, and shots were fired toward the individuals.

Police located the vehicle and arrested two individuals. It was determined that one of the suspects was the ex-boyfriend of an individual at the bonfire.

Paul was charged with five counts of attempted assault and one count of first-degree attempted domestic violence. He was jailed on a $140,000 bond.

The juvenile suspect will not be identified due to his age.

Both suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
