On Thursday, U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) voted to confirm Kash Patel as President Donald Trump's FBI director.

Alabama's two U.S. Senators have been very vocal in support of Patel, and both celebrated Patel's confirmation, saying he would ensure the FBI worked for the people again.

"He's exactly who we need to restore the Bureau's focus to keeping Americans safe & putting criminals behind bars. Politics out, public safety in," Britt posted on X ahead of the confirmation. "Let's go!"

After his confirmation, she wrote, "Confirming President Trump’s nominees has been a priority since Day One for our GOP Senate Majority. Proud to support @Kash_Patel today!"

"As Republicans continue to confirm President Trump’s nominees at the fastest pace in decades, there is no priority more urgent than getting his national security team in place. Today, I was proud to vote to confirm Kash Patel to lead the FBI,” Britt said in a release. “At the helm of the FBI, Director Patel will return the agency’s focus to protecting the American people from terrorists, hostile foreign actors, and violent criminals. Under his leadership, the days of weaponizing the agency to target Americans for their political beliefs are over. I look forward to being a partner to Director Patel and President Trump to put U.S. national security first and help make America safe again.”

Ahead of the confirmation, Tuberville predicted Thursday was going to be a "bad day for the deep state."

In a congratulatory post on X, he said of Patel, "He’s going to clean up the FBI and ensure our government works for the PEOPLE again, not the other way around."
