Mobile Fire Rescue responded just after midnight to a two-alarm fire at 3Circle Church on South Sage Avenue.

When firefighters arrived on the scene around 12:30 a.m., they saw smoke and flames.

Approximately 50 firefighters responded and put the fire out in about an hour, the department said.

Fire officials said the roofing material made it difficult to extinguish the blaze due to foam that continued to burn for hours.

The church's sanctuary sustained the most damage. At this time, there is no known cause of the fire as the investigation continues.

Pathway Mobile pastor Travis Johnson asked for prayers.

"I've been in touch with Pastor Chris Bell this morning, Johnson stated. "Please pray for this congregation and these leaders for God's good hand on their lives and ministry. Join me in praying that this challenge will be an on-ramp to more strength as a church and more Gospel reach in people's lives. Pray that God fully restores the campus."
