AUBURN – A dominant performance at the plate by Deric Fabian paired with another one on the mound from Conner McBride helped Auburn remain unbeaten in midweek games.

The No. 13 Auburn Tigers picked up an 8-4 victory over the Air Force Falcons at Plainsman Park this afternoon.

McBride got the start for Auburn and earned his second win of the season with his performance.

In five innings, McBride allowed only two runs off of seven hits, struck four batters out while walking none, and 47 of his 70 pitches were strikes.

Auburn scored early and often. Air Force got out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Tigers took control in the bottom of the second and never gave it back.

Gavin Miller got the day started for Auburn offensively when he hit a single up the middle that allowed Mason Maners to score. Cooper Weiss followed that up with his first home run of the game.

Fabian was Auburn's leader at the plate, going 2-3 with three RBI and two home runs.

Weiss also had a successful day at the plate and on the base paths. He went 3-4 with two RBI and scored one run. He hit one home run and stole two bases to bring his season total to 14.

Air Force was led at the plate by Chris Stallings who went 3-4. He finished the game with two RBI and one extra-base hit.

Auburn is now 10-2 on the season.
