The giveaways at Mobile’s “The Grounds” on Sunday, July 20, are almost unbelievable.
If there were a competition for the most “free stuff” at an event, “Light of Life” would likely win.
The free festival takes place from noon to 5:30 p.m. on July 20 at the Greater Gulf Fairgrounds, now known as “The Grounds.”
Meeting and eating start right after church. Churchgoers are encouraged to come straight from their morning service to The Grounds.
Here is the official invitation to the festival:
A community outreach offering fellowship, a free lunch, a school supply giveaway, free back-to-school haircuts, and an unforgettable performance by acclaimed singer and songwriter Stephen McWhirter!
The festival will feature the Sound Off band/choir competition, with a grand prize of $6,000 being awarded to the winning church’s Missions department. We will also have a raffle for an outdoor kitchen including installation. School supplies will be provided while supplies last, as well as free back to school haircuts! There will be inflatables and games for the kids, along with a petting zoo, and FREE BBQ, on a first come first serve basis. Acclaimed singer songwriter Stephen McWhirter known for his powerful voice and inspiring story, will close out the evening, delivering an amazingly soulful performance center stage, as the highlight of the day.

Due to the recent heat wave, organizers are emphasizing that the event will be held indoors and is air-conditioned.
If your church or mission has a praise band, singing group or choir, better let them know about this music competition for an amazing $6,000 prize.
If you have children or grandchildren heading back to school in August, they can get a big jump on school necessities at this festival, including school supplies and back-to-school haircuts.
The featured entertainer is singer/songwriter Stephen McWhirter.

The festival is hosted by Piggy Wiggly and Wings of Life, an affordable, Christ-centered addiction recovery program for individuals, married couples and families.
