Protesters triggered by the Trump administration plan to hold rallies this Saturday across the United States.
"Hands Off! Our Rights & Our Jobs" rallies have been reportedly scheduled in all 50 states, including Alabama. "We must stop Trump and Musk's illegal billionaire power grab," reads the poster for the rally this weekend in Huntsville.
Indivisible-5th District of North Alabama, the local chapter of the larger Soros-backed organization, is organizing the event at Big Spring Park.
Several workers' unions in north Alabama have encouraged their members to attend "to tell Trump and Musk to keep their HANDS OFF our union rights."
"As we speak, federal unions and our allies are preparing legal action. But federal workers themselves must be part of the fight right here in our local communities and on the shop floor, so that everybody in our chain of command from our front-line supervisor to the cabinet secretaries know that federal workers will not back down without a fight," a press release from North Alabama Area Labor Council stated. "North Alabama's unions call on Alabama's congressional delegation to stand up for their constituents against this flagrant violation of the law and our rights."
Council president Jacob Morrison, also a member of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 1858, criticized Trump's executive order against collective bargaining.
"He [Trump] alleges that collective bargaining is inconsistent with national security at all the affected agencies. This is bullshit… "This order is a middle finger to the one million working people it affects directly, and to all working people everywhere. The order tells Alabamians at Redstone Arsenal that we don't deserve a voice on the job. It tells us that we shouldn't speak up and defend our fellow workers. It tells us that we don't deserve due process and that our expertise on our jobs do not matter."
Liz Shuler, president of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, said the order was something "straight out of Project 2025" and was the "very definition of union-busting."
According to the Hands Off 2025 website, a Hands Off rally is also planned for this Saturday in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Florence and Opelika.
"Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They're taking everything they can get their hands on, and daring the world to stop them. On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets nationwide to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!
Attendees will also be protesting against Trump's illegal immigration crackdown, stance on "trans rights," and a host of other left-wing issues.

"Hands off Medicaid! Hands off Social Security! Hands off Our Bodies! Hands Off Our Public Lands! Hands Off Unions! Hands Off Immigrants! Hands Off Trans and LGBTQ+ Rights! Hands Off Clean Energy! Hands Off Our Courts! Hands Off Our Democracy!" organizers of a rally in Chicago said, according to People's World.
