The City of Montgomery announced Thursday the final list of qualified candidates who will appear on the ballot in the special municipal election for the Montgomery City Council District 3 seat.
The election will be held Tuesday, September 1. The special election will fill the vacant District 3 seat. The Montgomery City Council voted unanimously in June to vacate Marche Johnson from her District 3 seat.
Eighteen candidates originally filed qualifying paperwork to run for the seat. However, only 15 ended up qualifying and meeting various state requirements to run.
The qualified candidates are:

- Johnny Bannister
- LaPawn Carter
- Gregory Crawford
- Kevin Elkins
- Clarence Hampton
- Jose Harris
- Steven Lambert
- Robert Marcus
- Montaski McCoy
- De’Anthony Powell
- Johnnie Sankiey
- Bibby Simmons
