Another Trump official endorsed Morgan Murphy’s bid for U.S. Senate in 2026 on Monday.

Murphy is a candidate in the crowded Republican primary field for U.S. Senate. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is running for governor instead of seeking re-election.

Ezra Cohen, President Trump’s Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, endorsed Murphy on Monday.

“My friend, Morgan Murphy, is running for the Senate. We were in the trenches together at the Pentagon. Morgan is a patriot, highly competent, and on a mission to MAGA. Most importantly, Morgan is a great guy. He is going to do an excellent job for Alabama and will carry Coach’s legacy forward,” Cohen said.

Other endorsements of Murphy from Trump officials include Christopher Miller, K.T. McFarland, Sean Spicer, and Lt. Gen. (ret.) Keith Kellogg.

“Ezra Cohen is one of the finest national security minds of our generation, and I’m honored to have his endorsement. Senators serve six-year terms, the longest of any elected official — it’s critical voters know who they’re sending to Washington. I hope the backing of five senior Trump officials so early in my campaign gives confidence to the people of Alabama that I will support President Trump’s America First agenda for many years to come,” Murphy said.

Murphy has served in the Trump administration, on Tuberville’s staff, and in the U.S. Navy.
