On Monday, SEC Network radio host Paul Finebaum revealed news that one of his "favorite" callers had passed away.
According to Finebaum, Larry Wallace, also known as "Larry from Shelby," died just a week after calling in from the hospital.
The radio host remembered Larry, a proud Alabama Crimson Tide fan, as "one of the truly iconic callers in the history" of his 11-year show.

“[O]ne of the truly iconic callers in the history of this show, Larry Wallace, ‘Larry from Shelby,’ not from very far away from where we sit, has passed away, according to several of his friends,” Finebaum said on the set at the Hoover Met, the site of the SEC Baseball Tournament.
“We heard from Larry just last week," he continued. "It was an absolutely heartbreaking and gut-wrenching call, but he was on oxygen, on a ventilator at the hospital, but he wanted to call. And we felt fairly certain it would be his final call, but we are so appreciative of him and his family for keeping us up to date.”
