Troy at South Alabama (Thursday, 6:30 p.m., ESPNU) … Biggest game in the state this week gets the national stage. It could very well decide the Sun Belt West Division champion.

UAB at Western Kentucky (Friday, 7 p.m., CBS Sports Network … UAB found a way to win on Saturday. But the Blazers can’t play that same way and beat the Hilltoppers on the road.

Huntingdon at Methodist (Noon) … Huntingdon averages 477 yards per game on offense. Methodist allows 409 yards per game on defense.

Southeastern Louisiana at Jacksonville State (1 p.m., ESPN+) … Jacksonville State has one of the best rushing teams in FCS. Southeastern Louisiana doesn’t defend the run particularly well.

Tuskegee vs. Lane College in Memphis, Tennessee (2 p.m.) … Tuskegee running back Taurean Taylor is averaging 132 yards rushing per game with two games of more than 200 yards.

Faulkner at University of Incarnate Word (2 p.m.) … The Eagles take a long step up in competition against the 8th-ranked team in FCS.

Kentucky State vs. Miles College (2 p.m.) … Kentucky State has won three games in a row.

UNA at Eastern Kentucky (2 p.m.) … Here's a fun fact that has nothing to do with this game: Eastern Kentucky played a seven-overtime game earlier this season. The Colonels beat Bowling Green, 59-57, in that game.

Samford at East Tennessee State (2:30 p.m.) … Samford is one of three teams without a loss in Southern Conference play. ETSU is 1-4 in SoCon play.

North Greenville at West Alabama (4 p.m.) … North Greenville is 2-5 overall with four losses to ranked teams. Three of those losses came by seven points or less.

Mississippi State at Alabama (6 p.m., ESPN) … Can’t imagine it will be a pleasant week of preparation in Tuscaloosa this week. Both teams are coming off SEC losses.

Birmingham-Southern at Sewanee (6 p.m.) … Birmingham-Southern won six of the last seven meetings between these two programs.

Bye: Auburn, Alabama State, Alabama A&M

*-All games are Saturday, unless noted
