The Foley Police Department revealed details in a tense situation involving a woman who was stabbed with a screwdriver.
Police were called to the scene on Dailey Lane around 2 p.m Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers tried to get Bruce Sterling Williams, 37, to come out of the house. After giving verbal commands, Williams continued to refuse to exit the house.
After a brief standoff, officers sent in a K9 to extract the suspect. The dog found Williams hiding inside the home, according to police.
Williams was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and domestic violence-strangulation. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries from the dog.
Williams is considered innocent until proven guilty.
