A former Elba High School football coach who resigned seven years ago after an incident involving his son was arrested in Enterprise on Sunday in an unrelated incident.
Christopher Pate Harrison, 44, is charged with third-degree domestic violence. He was arrested by the Enterprise Police Department and booked into the Coffee County Jail Sunday afternoon. No details on the misdemeanor charge were available.
News 4 reported Harrison resigned as football coach in 2019 after he reportedly shoved his son during a junior varsity game and told him to shut up. He was not coaching the game.
Harrison coached football at Rehobeth High School following the incident but resigned in 2022 and is now the director of student services and transportation for Barbour County Schools.
Harrison is considered innocent until proven guilty.
