A former Donaldson corrections officer has been federally charged with smuggling cell phones, drugs and other contraband into the facility.
Wilson Brian Clemons, 32, was arrested in 2021 on charges of marijuana possession and the position for personal gain and possession of a controlled substance with other charges that are still being deliberated.
Clemons was indicted on one count of conspiracy and one count of using a facility in interstate commerce in furtherance of an unlawful activity.
According to federal documents, between Nov. 7, 2021, and Nov. 23, 2021, Clemons used his position to accept bribes and payments to bring contraband, such as cell phones, drugs, tobacco and more into the prison.
The charges also claim Clemons made several Cash app accounts with various pseudonyms to accept payments from inmates for bribes and payments.
Court documents show that Clemons intends to plead guilty to the charges, which could lead to a five-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
