Longtime Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran died Monday after a long battle with medical conditions, according to Alabama Sheriffs Association executive director Huey “Hoss” Mack.
Cochran spent nearly five decades in law enforcement, serving as Chief of Police in Mobile before being elected sheriff in 2006. He served four terms as sheriff. Cochran retired in 2022 and endorsed Paul Burch for sheriff.
Cochran and his wife, Sabrina, have four children. Mack asked for prayers for Cochran’s family.
