Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Jared Hudson joined Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "Mobile Mornings" on Wednesday to discuss his ongoing campaign and the war in Iran.

Hudson, a former Navy SEAL, told show hosts Dan Brennan and Dalton Orwig that while he isn't "pro-war," he does fully support America's war fighters wherever they may be deployed, including Iran.

"Whether you're for President Trump or whether you're against President Trump and his decision to end the Iranian conflict, which has been going on for 50 years. This is not a new war," said Hudson. "This is not Israel's war. This is a 50-year process. I'm 40 years old, so longer than I've been alive. This is a 50-year process that it looks like we're trying to bring an end to. I'm not pro-war. As a guy who's been to war and understands the cost of great men and women who certainly gave their lives, I understand the cost of war because it's spilling blood and giving your own blood."

"Stand for the war fighter, not the war, and I stand for the war fighter," he added.

Hudson also spoke about U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-S.C.) push for conflict in Iran, noting the legislator's complete lack of military experience and his recent vacation to Disney amid the continued Department of Homeland Security shutdown.

"I question his motives, and I question his morals, because as soon as we have aircraft being shot down, as soon as we have service members die, as soon as we have a government shutdown, where we still have the partial shutdown with DHS, where Coast Guard members are deployed in this conflict and not get paid this joker is at Disney with his family," Hudson said. "This is the biggest problem with all of these career politicians who are up there."

He added, "They don't know the cost to the regular everyday American, or in our case, Alabama families that can't afford to go buy groceries. And they don't know the cost to those who are willing to spill their blood, not for a partisan issue, but for this great nation in this great state, and make sure that we maintain freedom."
