The former executive director of North Alabama's Singing River Trail has been indicted on several child pornography charges.
According to WHNT 19, John Kvach was recently indicted on one count of disseminating obscene material involving minors and five counts of possessing obscene matter. He was the non-profit's first executive director, serving from mid-2020 until his arrest in June 2024.
Kvach is a former vice president of the Liberty Learning Foundation (LLF), an education-related non-profit that works with K-12 students. He was also an associate professor of Southern History at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Kvach was arrested after a search warrant was executed at his Brownsboro residence. He was booked into the Madison County Jail on a $100,000 bond and shortly thereafter made bail.
Kvach's case is set for July 9, 2026, in Madison County Court.
