Former State Sen. Rusty Glover (R-Semmes) will reclaim his seat after winning against challenger Doug Harwell in Tuesday's Republican primary.

State Sen. Jack Williams (R-Wilmer) gave up the seat to run for Agriculture Commissioner.

Glover had 55% (7,187) of the votes to Harwell's 45% (5,987).

On a Facebook post, Glover stated, "Now the real work begins!"

Glover, who served as a state representative for four years and a state senator for 12 years, was endorsed by the Alabama Republican Assembly and ALFA.
