The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving a former NFL player in Daphne.
Timothy “TJ” Yeldon, who played football at the University of Alabama and went on to the NFL, is charged with third-degree domestic violence, criminal mischief and interference with a domestic violence emergency call.
Deputies first responded at 1 a.m. on August 16 to a location in the 28000 block of State Highway 181. Dispatchers said they heard what sounded like a domestic violence incident between a male and female. When deputies arrived on the scene, a man turned off the lights and refused to come to the door.
Meanwhile, a woman calling 911 from the home said she locked herself in a bedroom and the man was trying to get in.
Deputies attempted to make forced entry, and the man unlocked the door and was taken into custody.
The man was later identified as Yeldon. He was booked into the Baldwin County Detention Center. He later posted a $2,000 bond and was released.
Yeldon played for Alabama from 2012 to 2015. He then played for the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
