A military helicopter crash near Opp sent three people to the hospital Monday.
Fort Rucker confirmed the UH-72 Lakota had an instructor and two student pilots on board when it went down in a field off Cool Springs Road.
The Covington County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Those on board were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The UH-72 Lakota is a twin-engine helicopter tailored for use by the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and National Guard. It makes up the Army's third-largest rotorcraft fleet with over 480 helicopters in service.
