The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) responded Thursday evening to five people shot in a Bibb County home.

According to court documents, the shooting happened after 8 p.m. Thursday on Greentree Drive in West Blocton.

Brandon Allan Kendrick II, 32, is charged with five counts of capital murder. It is believed the victims were Kendrick’s wife, Kelse Kendrick, and four children, all under the age of 14.

Kenrick was taken into custody and is cooperating with investigators.

Kendrick is the grandson of Allan Kendrick and Gay Kendrick, the lead pastor of Oasis Church in Bessemer. Church members have asked for prayers for the family at this time.

“Tell everyone asking if they can do something that they can be at church Sunday at 10 a.m.," Allan Kendrick said.

The church will also hold a corporate prayer service Friday at 7 p.m.
