The coroner’s office in Morgan County has confirmed that a four-year-old boy has died after being attacked by an Olde English bulldog on Monday. The dog has since been put down.

Posts on Facebook and a Meal Train page have stated that the grieving family is Kevin and Hailey Clark of Hartselle, and the deceased four-year-old is Beau Clark.

The Meal Train to assist the family can be found here.

A GoFundMe page can be found here.

Unofficial reports are that the dog attacked the child near the child’s home Monday evening. Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies and EMS personnel responded to Ramblewood, a private drive off Vaughn Bridge Road in Hartselle.

The coroner’s office made the following post after leaving the scene:

From Jeff Chunn, Morgan County Coroner:

“Thank you so much for the support and prayers tonight for the Clark family and our first responders. I have been in public service going on 43 years and never seen so many people come together as one, as they did [last night]. There were so many, from the dispatchers, police officers, Fire, EMS, hospital staff and even the bystanders were kneeling in prayer.

It makes you proud to live in a community and be a part of a first responder family like this. Please continue to pray for the family in the days to come.”

Correction: The Morgan County Sheriff's Office has changed the information on their website to now say that the dog which killed the four-year-old boy was an Olde English Bulldog, not a pitbull, as earlier stated.
