Micah Coon was beaten and shot to death in his Andalusia home in 2020. One of several suspects in the attack was arrested Friday near an Ohio hospital.

An arrest warrant for Frank McQueen of Andalusia was issued in 2021, but he fled the area. U.S. Marshals took him into custody Friday in a parking lot across from Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio.

In November 2020, Coon had gotten into a parking lot fight with the husband of Brittany Head of Opp. Alabama prosecutors said that Coon won the fight, and then Head and her husband went and recruited three friends to break into Coon’s Andalusia home 13 minutes later. McQueen is accused of being one of those attackers.

Coon called 911 while his wife and three children hid in the next room. When officers arrived, they found Coon’s front teeth had been knocked out, he had a black eye, and he had been shot by a rifle in the stomach and head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Brenda Head was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in October.

An Ohio task force located McQueen and made the arrest. McQueen had some contacts with family and friends in Alabama, and that information led the task force to be able to locate and arrest him.

McQueen is being held on murder and burglary charges in the Delaware County, Ohio Jail. It is expected that Alabama authorities will attempt to extradite him to Covington County, the site of the attack.

Two other defendants are scheduled to go on trial in Covington County Circuit Court next week. The trial is expected to be delayed so that McQueen can be extradited to Alabama and tried jointly with the remaining defendants.
