Stephanie Ganey-Messinger won the Daphne City Council, District 5 runoff on Tuesday.
Ganey-Messinger defeated Steve McArthur with 57.3% of the vote.
The former mortgage banker has been involved in politics for years but decided to run for council after retiring last year.
Her priorities are managing growth, keeping citizens safe, and supporting expansion projects of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Ganey-Messinger is an active member of the Eastern Shore Republican Women and serves on her HOA board of directors.
A lifelong Baldwin County resident, Ganey-Messinger and her husband, a 32-year retired veteran of law enforcement, attend 3 Circle Church in Fairhope. Together they have four children and three grandchildren.
