Joe Garris, Jr. will stay in Place 1 of the Gulf Shores City Council after winning re-election Tuesday night.

Garris held 52.97% against challenger Austin "Coach" Boyd.

Garris, a longtime resident of Gulf Shores, is a business owner operating a charter boat service in Orange Beach and Fort Morgan.

He was first elected to the council in 2004.
