Citizens must register to vote in the general election by October 21.
Registration is available online, or citizens may register in person at their local Board of Registrars office.
Secretary of State Wes Allen said he hopes all eligible citizens vote this year.
“The right of eligible United States citizens to cast a ballot in a fair and secure election is one of the hallmarks of our constitutional republic,” Allen said. “I encourage all eligible Alabama citizens to register to vote and make plans to head to the polls on November 5.”
The general election will include more than the presidential race. State and local races, such as congressional seats, chief justice and various judge races, will also be on the ballot. Sample ballots for each county can be viewed on the Secretary of State’s website here.
There will be one statewide amendment. If approved by voters, it would allow the Franklin County Board of Education to sell land in Fayette and Walker Counties.
