Friday, during an appearance on Fox Business Network's "Kudlow," Republican U.S. Senate candidate Morgan Murphy reacted to U.S. air strikes against ISIS in Nigeria.
President Donald Trump announced the strikes on Thursday.
Murphy applauded the action, noting that the strikes showed the U.S. military's extraordinary reach.
"[S]o, the president was successful in his first term, getting rid of ISIS in Syria, or at least putting a lid on it. It's kind of branching out a little bit now," Fox Business host David Asman said. "But he really dealt with it successfully in his first term. Can he deal with it now in Nigeria, which is an area we don't involve ourselves in?"
Murphy replied, "Well, I think Boko Haram and ISIS in Nigeria — yeah, he's put the hurt on them again. The Department of War has shown its incredible reach — that it can reach deep into Africa and hit targets that might think they are unreachable, but the long arm of the United States can get to them."
"It was an impressive strike using a lot of Tomahawks, as Pete Hegseth said last night, and is defending Christianity in a part of the world that really needs it right now," he continued. "And it was especially meaningful coming on Christmas as it did."
