The Gulf of America Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) conducted two operations Wednesday in Baldwin County that resulted in the arrest of 24 suspected illegal aliens.

The first happened at the construction site of the new Loxley Elementary School. Eleven individuals were arrested as part of an illegal immigration investigation. The general contractor on the job is Sharpe, Inc. The company has not responded to a media inquiry.

An additional 13 individuals were arrested later in the day at an unspecified location between Spanish Fort and Loxley, the FBI Mobile said.

The Gulf of America HSTF is made up of agents from Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI, Border Patrol, the ATF, Enforcement and Removal Operations, the DEA, as well as state and local sheriffs' offices and police departments.

Agents have arrested over 500 suspected illegal aliens in the region.
