The Gulf Shores Police Department announced the arrest of a man in connection to a sexual assault that happened in the parking lot of a bar and grill.
Daniel Anthony Crain, of Gulf Shores, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse.
Police first responded to Mud Bugs Pub & Club on August 28, around 2:56 a.m. They were called to the scene of a reported fight and sexual assault in progress.
"When the officers arrived, they located an unconscious female in the parking lot," police said in a press release. "The female was then transported to the hospital by ambulance."
After speaking to witnesses, the investigators gained enough information to develop a suspect. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Patches Tattoo & Piercings at 618 Gulf Shores Parkway and took Crain into custody.
There is no word on the current condition of the victim.
