The Gulf Shores City Council has unanimously approved a resolution banning alcohol for Spring Break 2026.

The ban will be in place from March 1 through April 28.

The resolution to be considered reads, “it shall be unlawful for any person to possess or consume any alcoholic beverage on the sand of any portion of the beach project area lying east of the eastern boundary of the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge, west of the western boundary of Gulf State Park, and seaward of the line of sand stabilization fencing installed by the City as part of the beach projects established on the Gulf front beaches within the corporate limits of the City of Gulf Shores.”

The council also approved a measure to allow Mayor Robert Craft to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office to add extra patrols to the area during Spring Break and other activities throughout the year.

The ban has been in place each Spring Break since 2016. Craft said it has helped keep visitors and residents safe during a busy tourism period.
